The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track assistant professor in Anthropology to begin August 2022. We have a small-but-growing anthropology program and seek to add an additional, broadly-trained anthropologist to help anchor further growth. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology at the time of appointment, a strong commitment to teaching, the ability to teach introductory courses in multiple subfields, and an active research program. Preference will be given to candidates who can connect to the major social, cultural, and political influences that shape the region, and who have the ability to provide undergraduate students with ethnographic, ethnohistorical, or archaeological experiential learning opportunities for regional community-engaged research and outreach.
