The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is advertising a tenure-track assistant professor position in anthropological archaeology. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the Anthropology program and will be expected to offer a core curriculum in archaeology for the anthropology major and the archaeology minor. The successful candidate will also have an active research agenda, regularly offer a field school, be able to manage existing archaeological collections, and advise undergraduate students regularly. Candidates with a research agenda focused on historical archaeology in the Southeastern United States, specifically in Appalachia will be preferred, though exceptional candidates working in other regions and time periods may be considered.
