Archaeology in the Community is organizing a Barkaeology Parade on October 5 in Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC for International Archaeology Day next month. This is a way to introduce people to zooarchaeology by celebrating the domestication of dogs.

For those in the metro DC area, we would love for you to join us (whether you’re a dog owner or not). For those outside of the DC area, the event is a fundraiser, supporting our free educational programming throughout the year. Anyone can sign up to be a peer-to-peer fundraiser and help us continue our mission of increasing awareness of archaeology and history.
