Mission Statement

The Veterans Archaeology Network (VAN) was created to support military veterans interested in pursuing experiences or careers in archaeology, curation, or collections management. Additionally, VAN seeks to empower and support veterans who are currently employed in these career fields.

Our Vision

VAN seeks to significantly enhance the fields of archaeology, curation, and collections management by contributing the rich and unique experiences that veterans have to offer. Furthermore, VAN endeavors to become an organization that provides transitional support to transitioning military members and veterans seeking meaningful careers beyond their military service.

Objectives

We aim to bridge the gap and create a supportive and inclusive community that values military service and recognizes the contributions veterans can make to archaeological research, preservation and education.
