Full-Time Archaeological Technician

Salary: $40,000 to $45,000

We are seeking a full-time Archaeologist for our Baton Rouge, LA, office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not limited to:
- Working under the supervision of staff, this person will provide assistance with project tasks at all levels including, fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring), archival research, technical report writing, data collection and compilation.
- This will initially be a travel and fieldwork-heavy position with 40 – 75% in the field
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum B.A./B.S. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field
- Previous field experience in CRM project environments
- Possess a working knowledge of standard excavation methods, demonstrate attention to detail and be able to maintain accurate field records
- Be able to traverse overgrown areas and/or difficult terrain with up to 40 lbs. of equipment
- Be able to work consistently in open spaces under variable weather conditions
- Able to travel and work in the field for periods up to 10 days at a time
- Have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and a cell phone.
- Ability to use verbal and written communication to listen, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with crew members and supervisory staff
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
