The Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello) seeks a Curator of Archaeological Collections, responsible for overseeing all aspects of lab operations, including supervising archaeological analysts and volunteers, artifact processing and cataloging using DAACS protocols and software, quality assurance, data analysis, artifact curation and public programming. The position requires a commitment to innovative, inclusive, collaborative scholarship to advance our understanding of Monticello Plantation, the lives of all its residents, and the slave society in which they were embedded. We seek applicants with comprehensive knowledge of the material culture of the early-modern Atlantic world, especially ceramics, interests in open science and quantitative comparative analysis of archaeological data, fieldwork experience, excellent writing skills, and a track record of innovative research on artifact and assemblage variation.
