The Laboratory of Archaeology at The University of Georgia anticipates being able to hire a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Geographic Information Systems and Computer Modeling in Archaeology. This would be a one-year, 12-month, full-time position. The primary role of the individual will be to collaborate with the Laboratory Director and the Historic Preservation Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resource on modeling and risk assessment for archaeological sites in Georgia. The ideal person for this position should have demonstratable skills using ArcGIS with regards to large-scale modeling, knowledge of geostatistical methods, a familiarity with state site file data, and write up process and procedures related to site file research. A familiarity with southeastern archaeology is a preferred, but persons who are trained in other regions are encouraged to apply.
