Tenure Track Position Assistant Professor in Southeastern Archaeology: University of South Florida

The Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in anthropological archaeology, to begin August 7, 2015. We seek a scholar with expertise in the prehistoric and historic archaeology of the U.S. Southeast (especially Florida and the Caribbean), as well as in public archaeology, cultural resources management, museum studies and/or heritage studies. Specific areas of interest should complement those of the current faculty; particularly desirable are zooarchaeology or paleoethnobotany. Candidates must be committed to four-field anthropology and applied anthropology, and hold a Ph.D. in anthropology at the time of appointment. They should expect to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in archaeology, including developing courses within their own specialization; mentor M.A. and Ph.D. students; develop interdisciplinary research collaborations with USF faculty in other departments; and seek external funding for research support. Applicants should provide evidence of teaching competence and research success.
