The Department of Anthropology of The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in archaeology to begin August, 2015. Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment. Geographic specialization is the greater U.S. Southeast. We seek an anthropological archaeologist with a quantitative archaeological science approach to research. Topical specialization is open, although the applicant should have a methodological expertise that does not duplicate existing department specializations. The successful applicant will be proficient in quantitative research applications that contribute directly to our undergraduate and graduate programs, with particular reference to our Ph.D. program focus on the archaeology of complex societies. Normal teaching load is 2:2.
