The Southeastern Archaeological Conference Award for Lifetime Achievement in Southeastern Archaeology
Nominations are open for the 2010 SEAC Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is normally awarded at the Annual Meeting to a senior colleague in recognition of demonstrated excellence in the study of the archaeology of the Southeastern United States. Nominations are reviewed by a three person committee appointed by the SEAC President, who make their recommendations to the SEAC Executive Committee for their consideration. The award is made by a vote of the full Executive Committee. Past recipients include Stanley South (2003), Patty Jo Watson (2004), and Dan and Phyllis Morse (2005), Hester Davis (2006), Charles Faulkner (2007), and Bennie Keel (2008).Nominations should include a cover letter outlining the accomplishments of the nominated individual along with supporting materials such as a curriculum vita or letters of support from colleagues or students. Nominations can be made by an individual member or by a group of members.
For 2010, the Lifetime Achievement Award Committee includes Ian Brown (University of Alabama) and William Marquart ( Florida Museum of Natural History). Nominations should be sent to any of the three committee members before September 1, 2010.
